Phil Hurd Photography recognizes that the right professional equipment is important. Certainly this is the case for the fully trained professional photographer however we also realize it is the human being who is taking the picture and the camera is simply the recording device. We always use professional equipment and, because we care about our customers, we ensure that it is in line with what our clients would expect. Rest assured of our commitment to provide professional level gear by well known manufacturers. If you should need something that is not listed here don't worry, for special occasions when we need equipment that we do not permanently possess we make arrangements to get it.
CAMERAS
	Phil Hurd Photography has many cameras; however our favorite and the one we most often photograph with is the Canon 20D. It is the middle of Canon's professional digital SLR line and returns the most "bang for the buck" so to speak. This camera has quickly become a favorite of professionals across the nation. All of the cameras that we use at Phil Hurd Photography are of the Canon or Nikon brand.
LENSES
	Perhaps there is no more important piece of the camera than the lens. Therefore at Phil Hurd Photography we use Sigma or Canon lenses. We do this because Canon has the best lenses in the photographic industry. You can hardly find a professional photographer that would even argue that point. Sigma is well known for producing high end lenses that rival the quality you can get from Canon at much less of a price. For our Nikon equipment we use only Nikkor or Sigma lenses.
LIGHTING
	Many manufacturers produce lighting equipment of professional quality. The key to lighting is to ensure that it is consistent and controllable, therefore the majority of our needs are supported by digital versalights from JTL. JTL produces outstanding quality high end digitally controllable lights that surpass many industry brand names. Because we use these lights were able to pass that cost savings along to our customers. These JTL lights were used in the majority of photographs in the event and portrait portfolios.
MISC
There are many other pieces of equipment that Phil Hurd Photography has; light meters, backgrounds, backdrops, props, and hundreds of pieces of support equipment. Rest assured we'll bring or acquire what is needed to ensure success at your photo session.
